Navigating your first Network Roulette

Last week I attended my first Brazen Careerist Network Roulette. What’s that, you ask? Brazen Careerist is a career-based networking website, somewhat of a crossover between what Facebook and LinkedIn offer.  Network Roulette hosts a variety of topics based on career development/work/blogging/etc. Personally,  I am sometimes shy when meeting new people face to face and can take a long time to open up with certain people. Network Roulette takes pressure off, allowing you to converse in the comfort of your own home,  by chatting online. Before you attend the session of your choice, you should know what you are looking for from the session and what you are going to offer -you have to be quick on your feet, with just two to three minutes to talk per person. Not enough time to exchange contact info with the other person? Talk to so many people that you couldn’t match the person to the conversation? No worries. Brazen keeps track of all the people you talked with and saves your conversation for viewing and connecting later. With all this said and done, make sure you follow up with the people you’ve interacted with – you never know what may come of it – job opportunities, business ventures, friendships,  and exposure of yourself, just to name a few. So what are you waiting for? Get Connected.
