Stop.Freeze.Now enjoy the moment.

I’m guilty of enjoying my Turkey Day break too much, because this week was difficult getting back into the swing of things.

With a couple weeks of work left till Christmas, my trip home coming up near then, and everything else that’s been going on, there definitely have been moments when I just wanted to stop.everything.and.freeze.

Day 3 of Reverb 10: Describe one moment during which you felt most alive this year.

This year has been filled with significant moments and so it wouldn’t be fair to reduce it to one during which I felt most alive. I’ve grown in appreciating all of life’s moments, because this year I’ve witnessed (one too many times) that you truly don’t know which moment may be your last.

We’re raised with this idea that we are supposed to go to school,  then college, get a job, get married, have children and then retire. Okay, but what about all the in-between stuff?

We get so wrapped up in our schedules and obligations, our routines and lifestyles that it’s sometimes best for us to step back, take a look around us, and appreciate the moment we are in. The present.

This year I’ve made it a requirement to (every now and then) give myself a weekend off, to give myself time to do the things I really enjoy. Read, listen to music, talk to family, do yoga. Whatever it is.To appreciate the people and things around me,  my independence, health, family,  a roof over my head, the things that matter the most. And to give back, in thanks for all the advantages in life.

Those are my moments. My every beautiful moment of life.

What was your best moment this year?
